This project is ongoing and self-built where possible. It exists as a series of instantaneous experiments that sometimes result in permanent built form, sometime temporary fixes and sometime mistakes that are corrected in an iterative process.
The renovation has been completed in the following stages:

  • Demolition of brick wall to open up a kitchen to living area with steel column to support new bench

  • Laundry consolidated at entrance and fridge location built into light-weight recess

  • Ribbon of hardwood joinery that covers an existing bulkhead and column and creates a large built in seat

  • Open shelving to kitchen constructed as part of the timber-ribbon element

  • New kitchen made with natural zinc bench top, new floor tiles and tiled splash.

  • Bamboo floors throughout and repainted in white

  • Recycled dining table made from reclaimed church pews

  • OSB lined threshold on second level
